If so, that really looks like poisoning. If the bodies can be recovered asap (and frozen) then they could be tested.RBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13929001825575646912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1204345687106171177.post-62249776648170147502014-07-16T09:14:09.210-07:002014-07-16T09:14:09.210-07:00I could say I feel sorry for the person/s responsi...I could say I feel sorry for the person/s responsible for this outrage, they obviously have so little intellect that would allow them for just a fleeting moment to enjoy the sheer beauty of these birds. However, I don't feel sorry for them at all, I would gladly see these moronic people put in jail for a long time, my only regret is that I would be unable to be part of the team that did it.

I've been involved with Raptors for nearly 50 years, in that time I have witnessed all sorts of devious ways by gamekeepers and others to destroy them, fortunately for me the thrill of observing these magnificent birds both during the breeding cycle and throughout the year has outweighed the disappointment I have felt when I have witnessed the destruction of a nest full of young, or the poisoning and shooting of birds of prey just so that a few more Grouse or Pheasants can be killed for the shooting fraternities gruesome pleasure kicks.

Of course we can't just blame the keepers for this outrageous persecution, birds such as the Peregrine, the Goshawk and the Sparrowhawk have been constantly under threat from the pigeon fanciers for years.

If the shooting fraternity and the pigeon fanciers are prepared to release huge unnatural quantities of ready meals into the environment in which our birds of prey hunt, then they shouldn't be surprised if the Raptors line up at the dinner table to take advantage of these offerings. They know this is what is likely to happen and they should allow for it, if they are not prepared to tolerate our Raptors then they should not be in the shooting or pigeon fanciers game. nirofohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08585845297635503739noreply@blogger.com
